The Roost is a restaurant & catering company that specializes in delicious and juicy baked chicken.

We source our protein and produce from the best local purveyors, and we pride ourselves in producing wholesome and healthful meals that don’t compromise flavor.

Our famous Ancho Chili Mustard-Rubbed Baked Chicken and tasty side dishes are available right now on your favorite delivery platform!

Merchant Roots Community

Merchant Roots contributes to causes that need support, and we empower our team to do the same. Each quarter, a Merchant Roots employee gets to select a charity and $6 from every meal we serve is donated to their selected non-profit organization.

For our Winter 2024 menu (Into the Forest), Merchant Roots’ own Ram Zallan selected Food not Bombs. Food Not Bombs is an all-volunteer movement that recovers food that would otherwise be discarded, and shares free vegan and vegetarian meals with the hungry in over 1,000 cities in 65 countries in protest to war, poverty, and destruction of the environment. We are not a charity but dedicated to taking nonviolent direct action. Our movement has no headquarters or positions of leadership and we use the process of consensus to make decisions. We also provide food and supplies to the survivors of natural disasters, and people participating in occupations, strikes, marches and other protests

Browned Cultured Butter Cookies

We are currently limiting our offerings exclusively to our tasting menu experiences. Our cookies, however, have taken on a life of their own. We currently retail them as part of delivery service through our sister restaurant The Roost, and they are available as add-ons for our dinner service, to be picked up the night of your reservation.
